Product Description
Constructed of wood and copper clad, the Tangent
Galvanometer consists of a horizontal platform supported
about six inches above the table by two vertical square -
frame legs. A long length of flexible copper wire,
connected to a battery and flashlight bulb in series, can be
looped around plastic hangers in the square frame, turn by
turn. As turns are added, the deflection of a magnetic
compass, located upon the platform and centered in the
square coil, is observed to change. The deflections can be
plotted on graph paper that is accurately fixed on the platform
with respect to the compass. (Graph paper not
included.)
