Second Law of Motion Unit
Product Description
Demonstrate Newton's Second Law of Motion. This unit
consists of a 2.5 cm wide, 46 cm long steel strap that
clamps easily to the edge of a lab table with a small vise.
The two 2cm steel balls sitting in the crossbar at one end
of the strap are released simultaneously with one ball
dropping vertically and the other ball projected
horizontally. As students observe both balls striking the
floor at the same time, they realize the significance of
Newton's second law of motion. Gravity has the same
effect on a projectile as on a body falling vertically.
This apparatus is an ideal demonstration device for
educators.
