Investigating Rocks and Minerals

A Study of the Surface of Earth (Grades 3-6) Students will be able to define the terms minerals and rocks and verbally explain the difference among igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. They will conduct hardness and luster tests on the rocks and minerals then conduct a series of tests on rocks to attempt to isolate the minerals in them and chart the results of each test.
